How to Get a Library Card

To obtain a library card at the Robbins or Fox Libraries, please bring identification with your name and current address. Please remember to bring your library card with you when you visit. Library accounts are confidential. Thus we cannot discuss details of your account over the telephone or share that information with members of your family.

Acceptable ID: Drivers license, utility bill, lease, mortgage papers, checkbook (with address on it), business mail (not a personal letter), or mail that has been forwarded by the Post Office with the P.O. yellow change of address sticker on it.

PIN (Personal Identification Number)

A PIN allows you to access your account to determine what items are currently charged out, renew items, check for fines owed, and review your reserve list. Applying for a PIN is quick and easy and can be done in person at the Circulation Desk or through the My Account feature of the Minuteman home page.

How To Get A Pin

You will need to obtain a PIN to view your library record, renew items or place requests in the online catalog. You can get a PIN in either of two ways from The Minuteman Library Network Home Page page,

Either:

1. Click on the My Account link under the Minuteman Catalog button on the home page. You will see a screen asking for your library card number and PIN. The card number should be entered without spaces. After you put in your PIN, you will get another screen asking you to confirm it twice. The PIN can be from four to twenty digits long and can contain letters, numbers or a combination.

2. When using the online catalog, once you have identified an item that you would like to reserve, click on the blue "Request" button. You will then get the library card and PIN screen, and again, a second screen to confirm the PIN that you entered. You will need the PIN to place future reserves as well as to renew books online or view your account information. You should make the PIN something memorable to you, since the library does not have a record of it once it is entered. The record is encrypted for security purposes. If you do forget your PIN, you will need to come to the library to have the old one deleted and start over with a new one.
