Do you have a few hours each month to help the Robbins Library? If so, the Friends of the Library could use your assistance. The Friends is a nonprofit citizen's organization that supports the library...

Donor Program

The Robbins library is our town’s living room, a place where we can meet, relax and expand our world for a few minutes or hours. Public libraries need private donations since citizen requests for materials and services exceed the funds available through the municipal budget. The library gratefully accepts donations from individuals and organizations, and there are a variety of ways to help.

The Friends of the Robbins Library provide support through their book sales, special programs and membership dues. Members receive a quarterly newsletter, invitations to library programs, early access to the book sales and two “fine free” coupons for overdue materials. New members also receive a Robbins Library tote bag.

The levels for becoming a Friend are as follows:

  • Senior Citizen $8
  • Individual (new) $10
  • Individual (renewing) $15
  • Family/Super member $25
  • Life Member $150
  • Unrestricted Gifts to the Library provide flexibility for the Library to use the gifts where they will be most needed, which is greatly appreciated at all times but especially given the stress currently faced by all municipal budgets.

The Sunday Campaign supports efforts to have the Library open on Sundays. As the economy tightened, Library usage rose but the funds previously available to keep the Library open on Sundays were no longer available. This effort strives to keep the Library open from 2-5 pm on Sundays from October through May. The cost to keep the Library open for one Sunday is $1200. Unless they request otherwise, all donors to the Sunday campaign will be publicly recognized for the Sunday they help to underwrite.
