Friends of the Library
Do you have a few hours each month to help the Robbins Library? If so, the Friends of the Library could use your assistance. The Friends is a nonprofit citizen's organization that supports the library with fundraising activities and programs.
Ongoing Book Sale
The Friends of the Robbins Library maintain an ongoing book sale in the library's fourth floor Book Sale Room. The selection is updated frequently and the books are reasonably priced (50 cents to $2.00). Proceeds from the sale allow the Friends to offer the family museum pass program as well as to purchase supplemental materials and equipment for the Robbins and Fox libraries. Donations for the book sale are gratefully accepted at the Reference Desk on the first floor of the library. We ask you to limit your contributions to one bag/box per visit, due to storage limitations.
The Friends are in the process of trying to revitalize the organization, increase membership and plan for upcoming programs. Members are needed for a Board of Directors (one meeting, per month) as well as
for various committees (programs, membership, fundraising, publicity).
Please contact Assistant Director Cindy Diminture (781) 316-3202 or Library Director Maryellen Loud (781) 316-3201 if you are interested in serving on a committee or as a Board member.
