The Robbins library is our town’s living room, a place where we can meet, relax and expand our world for a few minutes or hours. Public libraries need private donations since citizen requests for materials and services exceed the funds available through the municipal budget. The library gratefully accepts donations from individuals and organizations, and there are a variety of ways to help.
The Friends of the Robbins Library provide support through their book sales, special programs and membership dues. Members receive a quarterly newsletter, invitations to library programs, early access to the book sales and two “fine free” coupons for overdue materials. New members also receive a Robbins Library tote bag.
The levels for becoming a Friend are as follows:
The Sunday Fund Drive will open the Robbins Library on Sundays from 2-5 PM from October to May. These popular hours are totally funded through private donations due to constraints on the municipal budget.
Unrestricted Gifts to the Library provide flexibility for the Library to use the gifts where they will be most needed, which is greatly appreciated at all times but especially given the stress currently faced by all municipal budgets.
The Materials Fund Drive supports additions to the collections of the Robbins and Fox Libraries. Contributions help ensure that, despite municipal and state budget cuts, we can all find what we are looking for – books, audio materials, subscriptions and more.
The Youth Services Fund Drive supports additions to Youth Services programs and collections of the Robbins and Fox Libraries.
