Check out the Young Adult Advisory Committee at Robbins Library.
What it is: The Young Adult Advisory Committee meets monthly to plan and present their ideas for programs and materials to the Young Adult librarian and staff. This group has contributed its ideas and services to the Friends in helping run a book sale for children and teens. It has also planned and presented crafts for the October Fest , a children’s program in October.
Who can join: Any teen who lives in Arlington may join the group. Middle and high school students are urged to join so that they may contribute their ideas. Students will receive community service credits for their involvement in this committee.
Meetings: Meetings are monthly, on a Thursday night from 7-8:15 p. m. In the community room. Snacks are provided. If you wish to join you may Contact Susan McGonagle , YA Librarian at 781-316-3215 or Liza Halley, Russell Fund Coordinator at .
Activities and programs: There are many interesting and fun programs available To Young Adults. Some of our recent programs include: comic book making, Poetry nights, movie nights, book clubs and Chinese Landscape painting.
What teens may find at Robbins Library: The Robbins Library web site provides links to recommended sites for homework, MCAS practice, math, history, booklists, college planning and careers and jobs. The teen area is on the first floor near the computers which are available to all with A library card for an initial forty-five minutes. These computers give access to the internet while other computers only give access to the library catalog.
Besides our programs, we offer a summer reading club with many great prizes.
Students will also find our many databases available in the library or at home very helpful. Below is a list that would be especially helpful to teens.

Lit Finder: Poem, short story and essay finder.
Newsbank: Check out for current local paper articles.
