Friends of Robbins Library present: Attracting Birds, Butterflies, Bees and Other Beneficials

September 23 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Zoom program, register at: https://johnrootatrobbins.eventbrite.com

Naturalist John Root describes the essential roles played by pollinators and other beneficial organisms in our ecosystem and provides guidance on meeting their needs for food, cover, and water. A variety of plants that can nourish these organisms throughout their active lifetimes are discussed, and organic methods for establishing pollinator gardens are also presented. Comments and questions are welcome throughout the program, and handouts with information about attracting beneficials are offered to participants.  John is a Certified Organic Land Care Professional, and an organizer with Western Mass Pollinator Networks promoting the establishment of pollinator habitat on public and private lands.  He also presents gardening and nature interpretation programs throughout New England at libraries, senior centers, long term care centers, and other venues, and leads edible wild plants walks throughout Massachusetts.
