Friends of the Robbins Library present: Storyteller Sharon Kennedy

Join us for a special program on Heroes. The 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s death is this coming April. Exactly 50 years ago storyteller Sharon Kennedy flew to the nation’s capital where she was granted an interview with Martin Luther King, the Mayor of D.C., and with Stokely Carmichael. Sharon was 18 years old and a freshman at New York University taking one journalism class. This was her project for that class. Imagine her surprise when she was granted these three interviews. When she was 15 she crashed a Beatles press conference at Boston Garden and met all four Beatles. Now at 18 she was poised to meet MLK. But it wasn’t going to be quite that easy…
