Are you feeling uncertain or hesitant about going straight to college? Have you looked into gap year options and been overwhelmed by what is out there? Do you worry about what a gap year may cost? Come learn all about gap year from Jane Sarouhan, Vice President of the Center for Interim Programs, the first independent gap year counseling organization in the United States. Jane has been working with young adults, families and programs for 20 years as an educator, programmer, director and counselor. Students, parents and staff are welcome to attend! Here are some topics she will cover: 1. Define Gap Year Who? What? When? Where? Why? 2. Benefits of gap time. 3. Common concerns of gap time. Safety. Cost. Returning to school. College process. 4. Tips on how to create structured, meaningful gap time. All interested students, parents, guardians and counselors are encouraged to attend!
