Gender Spectrum Panel

March 28, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

There is no way one way to be trans. This panel brings together 3 individuals who have a variety of gender identities that fall under the trans* umbrella: transgender, genderqueer, nonbinary, or otherwise gender variant. Hear about their professional experience working with trans* people and personal experiences being part of the trans* community.

Meet the Panelists:
AJ Brown is 26, Hispanic, and Jewish. They are gender fluid/androgynous and work as a mental health advocate. They are a therapist at a non-profit psychiatric hospital, where they work with many types of patients, including transgender adolescents and adults.
Taj Smith is black, transgender, Christian.  He owns his faith, gender, and race.  He graduated from Harvard Divinity School in 2016, where he was able to think about identity in relationship to theology. During his everyday life, Taj works in higher education, plays music on the weekends, and attempts to fix up old typewriters.
In addition to being a parent, partner, and homemaker, Bobbi Taylor works as a trans rights activist. She serves as Vice Chair of the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition and as an LGBTQIA+ representative on the State Commission for Unaccompanied Homeless Youth. She identifies as genderqueer, has a Master’s degree in Social Work, and is passionate about people and supporting healthy communities that value intimacy.
