Girls Who Code – NO CLUB THIS WEEK
November 1, 2017 @ 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Please note that there is no club this week due to Arlington Public Schools not having school. Have questions? Please email Megan, Teen Services Librarian at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to seeing you next week, November 8th for club!
For the second year, the Robbins Library will be hosting a Girls Who Code club open to girls in grades 6 through 12. The club will meet Wednesdays October through May from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. This program is for girls at all knowledge levels. It doesn’t matter whether you have no skills or have taken classes before, the curriculum is meant to meet you at your level.
Girls Who Code is a nonprofit organization dedicated to closing the gender gap in the technology field. By 2020, there will be 1.4 million jobs available in computing related fields. US graduates are on track to fill 29% of those jobs. Women are on track to fill just 3%. To learn more about the Girls Who Code organization and other clubs available in the area, please go to their website.
Please note that our Girls Who Code club is currently full. If we are able to accommodate more coders, we will make an announcement on our website.
