Plug In to Empowering Caregivers Who Are Making the Difficult Decisions
October 13 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Virtual Event: Register at https://plug-in-10-13-21.eventbrite.com
Wouldn’t it be a relief to know you are making the right decisions and doing right by the person in your care. Whether you are caring for someone with dementia, stroke, brain injury or other cognitive impairment, you can learn how to use these four bioethical tools to make difficult life, health and end-of-life decisions. This is not a one-size-fits-all solution but can be adapted depending on a person’s level of incapacity and the situation. Respect and compassion are the core principles in this decision-making process. Viki Kind is a clinical bioethicist, medical educator, hospice volunteer and author of The Caregiver’s Path to Compassionate Decision Making: Making Choices for Those Who Can’t. Viki helps people navigate these decisions inside of hospitals. And as a caregiver herself, Viki hopes to bring you more peace of heart and peace of mind. This Robbins Library event is co-presented by Plug In and the Council on Aging. Plug In is made possible by the Barry Memorial Fund.
