Death is a universal experience, yet options for how to care for the deceased’s body may feel limited, impersonal and disconnected from our values. Join us for an exploration of what’s possible when planning for yourself or a loved one after death. Discussion will include choices regarding funeral arrangements, how your body is cared for after death, as well as ways to commemorate, honor and grieve. Participating in the discussion will be Ruth Faas, an Arlington resident focused on supporting people with the emotional and practical needs after a death or with planning ahead; Viennia Lopes Booth, an educator, advocate and earth tender whose work has consistently focused on caring for both people and the planet in regenerative and affirming ways; and Heather Massey, an end-of-life specialist, death educator, trainer, consultant and funeral consumer rights advocate with over 50 years of experience in end-of-life and after-death care. A Q&A period will follow the presentation. Plug In, a Robbins Library monthly series targeted to 50+ adults, is supported by the Barry Fund.
